$1 to Education....

4/365
So today's $1 went to education, but not directly. I decided to take a risk with the donation and put $1 toward a chance at the 355 million dollar NYS Lottery.

Since it is very doubtful that I will win (the odds are 1 in 175,711,536), I am assuming this will be a donation to education and not a profit, but when I looked up some of the lottery donation stats I was actually quite impressed.

Why the Lottery?
  • Potential to win more money to donate!
  • Lottery contributed $2.67 billion to help support education in New York State 2009-2010.
  • The New York Lottery is North America's largest and most profitable Lottery, earning over $39.3 billion in education support statewide since its founding over 40 years ago.
  • Donation breakdown by county
  • Lottery scholarship.
  • It is fun.
